There is always a sense of tranquility in the vivid images that Maneesha Doshi paints. While the human persona is an integral part of her work, fantasies and self-introspection are woven together with accessorial elements that then emerge as a whole.
Experimenting with different media, Maneesha's works use warm, vibrant colours, figures that remain grounded and yet extend beyond their domains in a surreal landscape, are recognisable and desired, mysterious but uncomplicated. Her works defy definition and yet we identify them in an essential and deeply spiritual manner. Maneesha Doshi says, "My paintings are a reflection of the unconscious as well as the conscious understanding of myself and my surroundings."
